The defender of the Kaliningrad Baltika Kirill Malyarov told Sport24 that he could not play in Rostov in 2019, but the strongest team was assembled there under Valery Karpin.
– Robert Evdokimov (in 2018 – the head coach of Rotor. – Note) through the sports director Ryskin arranged for my viewing. “Rostov” was training in Austria, but I could not get a visa. I searched all over Moscow how to apply: I had to pay 100 or 150 thousand.
Then Karpin calls: “Kirill, hello! What, ready? Are you training? I did not expect a call from him personally with an invitation. Such a chance! It is good that in three days they returned to Rostov. I trained there for about two weeks, and Georgievich liked everything.
– Why didn’t they?
– I went out once, to the Cup, as a right insider. I gave an assist, 60 minutes – I thought that was enough, ha ha. Received the award and enjoyed it. It is now that Georgic began to love young football players, but then it was not so. I trained well, I would still get a chance …
On the other hand, it was probably the strongest “Rostov” under Karpin. Lekha Kozlov spent one of his best seasons in the team in my position. And Shomurodov went from there to Roma – with crooked legs, ahah, – said Malyarov.
Malyarov has been playing for Baltika since 2022. Last season, the 26-year-old played 33 matches, scored 2 goals and made 7 assists.
The new season of the MIR RPL starts on July 21 with the Dynamo-Krasnodar match. Match TV will show live three matches of the first round: Lokomotiv – Rubin (July 22, 17:15), Akhmat – Sovetov Wings (July 22, 19:45) and Sochi – Baltika (July 23, 19:45).
