Cassierra’s double brought Zenit victory over PARI NN in the match of the first round of the RPL

Petersburg “Zenith” defeated the Nizhny Novgorod “PARI NN” in the away match of the first round of the MIR of the Russian Premier League (RPL).
The meeting, which took place on Saturday in Nizhny Novgorod, ended with a score of 2:0 in favor of the Blue-White-Blues. Forward Mateo Cassierra scored a double (57th and 83rd minutes).
From the 51st minute, the hosts played in the minority: defender Viktor Aleksandrov was sent off the field after a violation against Zenit midfielder Zelimkhan Bakaev. Initially, referee Sergei Ivanov showed Aleksandrov a yellow card, but after checking VAR, the referee changed his decision.
In the second round of the Russian Championship, the team of Sergei Semak will play on the road with “Rostov”, Nizhny Novgorod will meet with the Ekaterinburg “Ural” away. Both meetings will be held on July 29.
