CSKA head coach Vladimir Fedotov is experiencing difficulties with the squad, but it’s not worth making predictions about the position of the army team based on the results of one match, former head coach of the Russian national team Boris Ignatiev told Euro-Futbol.Ru.
On Saturday, CSKA was defeated by Yekaterinburg Ural in the match of the first round of the WORLD RPL with a score of 1:2.
– Were you surprised by the defeat of CSKA?
— I didn’t think that Yekaterinburg residents would look better in the game component. I thought that CSKA would continue its gaming progress, especially after a quality match for the Super Cup. “Ural” imposed his style on the army team. Yes, the Muscovites had more possession of the ball, but the hosts’ players were more persistent and aggressive.
– Don’t you get the feeling that Fedotov has a very short bench?
– Fedotov faced big problems, he is experiencing difficulties with the composition. The idea that he can replace any player with another is self-deception. Diveev was injured, Agapov is also unavailable. The margin of safety is slowly being lost.
– Don’t you think that the season that has begun can become a failure for CSKA?
– I have no reason to draw unambiguous conclusions. It may work, or it may not work. Most recently, we said that CSKA is the main contender to compete with Zenit. In the same Super Bowl, the army team looked very convincing. I would not make far-reaching predictions after one game, especially the starting one.
On Sunday, July 23, live on the Match TV channel, watch the match of the 1st round of the RPL Sochi – Baltika, the broadcast will begin at 19:55 Moscow time.
