There is excellent interaction between Russian and Brazilian football players of Zenit, there is a positive atmosphere in the club, said the midfielder of the Blue-White-Blues Gustavo Mantuan.

Zenit has eight Brazilian legionnaires: Douglas Santos, Mario Fernandez, Robert Renan, Rodrigao, Wendel, Mantuan, Claudinho and Du Queiroz. Two of them – Fernandez and Claudinho – have Russian passports.

– There are a lot of Brazilians in the team, and Pedro will also come in the winter. How is communication with Russian players going? There is a feeling that Zenit is already a Brazilian club?

– There is no such feeling. There are a large number of Brazilians, but there are enough Russian players as well. We have great chemistry within the team, everything is combined. The Russians help us, we help them. And we exist in harmony. The result in recent years shows best that the atmosphere is good.

– Which of the Russian guys do you communicate with the most? What do you already know in Russian?

– With everyone. With someone a little more, with someone less. More often – with Kovalenko, Mostov. In general, I am sociable, I can exchange a couple of phrases with everyone.

– Does Latin American music or Russian play more often in the locker room? Who is the main DJ in the team?

Cucho (nickname of Wilmar Barrios). He is always in charge of the music. He always carries a column with him – on a plane, bus, locker room. Always puts on his favorite songs. So it’s mostly Latin American. But we also listen to the latest hits of Russian music. We even know Russian words,” Mantua said to Metaratings.ru

Zenit is in seventh place in the WORLD RPL standings, having scored four points in three rounds. Sergei Semak’s team will host Fakel at home on Sunday, August 13. Watch the live broadcast of the meeting from 17:00 (Moscow time) on the MATCH PREMIER TV channel, as well as on matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
