The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has announced that Roberto Mancini has stepped down as Italy manager.
The specialist notified the FIGC of his desire to step down from his position on Saturday evening. The name of the new head coach of the team will be announced in the coming days.
The Italian national team under the leadership of Mancini won the European Championship, and also twice became the third in the League of Nations. He has been working with the team since May 2018, before that the Italian coached Zenit St. Petersburg.
Earlier media reported that Mancini could replace Luciano Spalletti, who led Napoli to victory in Serie A at the end of the 2022/23 season.
