Clotet told why he removed Kutepov, Zhuravlev and Netfullin from training at Torpedo
Torpedo head coach Josep Clotet explained why he suspended the players Yuri Zhuravlev, Ilya Kutepov and Ravil Netfullin from training last season.
– A month after joining Torpedo, you suspended Kutepov, Zhuravlev and Netfullin from training with the main team – allegedly for jokes and laughter.
– For me, the main thing is that the player respects his partners, coaches and the emblem of the club. The way Kutepov, Zhuravlev and Netfullin treated the matter does not correspond to my values. These three have made it clear that they don’t want to be part of our team.
One of them came up to me and said: “If we fly to the FNL, I won’t play for Torpedo.” What should I have said to him? It is important for me that my players want to play in Torpedo, and not specifically in the RPL or somewhere else. We behaved correctly in relation to this trinity. There are no irreplaceable ones: if you don’t want to play in our club, look for a new job.
As for the version that I just did not like their jokes, it is very far from the truth. How can I not have a sense of humor? I’m Spanish! We love fiesta and siesta.
– Kutepov and Netfullin have already left. And Zhuravlev is still listed in Torpedo.
I don’t count on him. It was Yuri who owned the phrase that I just talked about, – Sport24 quotes Klotet.
“Torpedo” with 7 points is on the eighth line in the standings of MELBET-First League.
