Defender for Chelsea and England U19 Lewis Hall Transferred to Newcastle on loan. The deal contains a buyout clause if the player collects the required number of effective shares. The Englishman will play at number 20.
Here’s what Hall had to say about his move:
I’m very proud. My family and I are Newcastle fans, and when my brother and I were growing up, we were taught that we were Newcastle. It’s a great club and I can’t wait to get started.
Last year I gained a lot of big match experience and was very proud of how I progressed as a player and as a person. Now here at Newcastle, a club I’ve been a fan of since I was a kid, I’m honored and proud to wear this shirt.
It’s very exciting. If you remember last season and how the team performed – not only the results, but also the way they played – it was fantastic.
There are so many talented players in the team and we now have the Champions League, so there are many different competitions where I know the team will try to do well and hopefully get a trophy or two.
Head coach of Newcastle Eddie Howe also commented on this transition:
I am delighted to welcome Lewis to Newcastle United.
We have been following him closely, like many other clubs, so it is great to have him and add a player of his quality, versatility and high potential to our roster.
I would like to thank all participants in the process for their tireless work in attracting the players we have.
The transfer window takes a lot of time, effort and resources, but we have real cohesion at all levels and I appreciate this teamwork and support.
It was previously reported that Hall is close to moving to Newcastle.
