Spartak are considering sacking Abaskal. Carrera and Cherchesov will not refuse to work

You should always have a backup coaching plan.

Losses will lead to a change of mentor

Abascal has been working for over a year. His “Spartak” changes the composition, not the sense of football. The coach framed the team, but against Zenit he had the opportunity to take revenge. Instead of a serious approach with instructions understandable to players, Abascal decided to be original. Semak used presents and Wendel scored twice. It is hardly possible to become a champion if you don’t beat Zenit RPL over the course of six years.

Abascal’s critics have noted its main feature. Experiments for the sake of experiments. Guillermo realizes that being fired won’t hurt him. You can always do like Dynamo’s Norman by finding a reason for an emergency departure. Abaskal, 34, will find work west of Moscow. Therefore, he uses the Spartak for crazy experiments, so as not to submit risky experiments to the next team.

Spartak did not compete with Zenit last season. But even Akron’s exit from the Cup hasn’t shaken Abascal’s position. The coach can lose all matches against Semak, but since there is no difference between second and twelfth place RPL, the Spaniard will find a reason to justify himself. He took it back after the 1: 3 defeat against Zenit. He insisted on choosing the right composition and his ideas worked. Tell Ural.

Gancharenko’s team managed to score six goals against Spartak, while Pari NN scored four times. Stubbornness marks ‘prodigy’ coaches like Nagelsmann, and Abascal is no exception. But Tuchel and his companions, coaches without serious experience as players, have gone through the stages of coaching maturation. Abascal skipped his studies. After the failure with Basel, he did not become the champion of Switzerland, he ended up in the rich Spartak.

Karpin was bored in Rostov-on-Don

There are coaches who can replace Abascal in Spartak. Fedun called Karpin “a downed pilot.” The wife of the billionaire Salikhov said that the only thing Valery Georgievich could blame Leonid Arnoldovich for was that he did not buy referees and rivals. A statement that suggests there was such a demand? Fedun and Salikhova are not fans of the Russian national team coach, with them Karpin was barred from joining Spartak.

And the club’s new directors have their preferences. Karpin denies contact with Spartak representatives a year ago. But this candidate can come back now. The “White-Reds” will not call Slutsky, because Leonid Viktorovich said a lot and coached in the past CSKA. Slutsky is not fit, he is a bad savior. Work at Rubin ended in fiasco with departure from RPL and bankruptcies in the minor leagues.

But Karpin, having modest resources for Rostov by Spartak standards, scored one point less than Abaskal last season. Moreover, the Rostovites simply stop playing. They have four defeats in their last five games. The players and the coach did not understand the value of second place, unlike Fedotov and CSKA. Now Karpin has problems again, because he is tired of being the coach of the provincial Rostov.

Perhaps Karpin regrets that he did not go to Lokomotiv, where they watched him. We don’t rule out that he generally wants to retire or take a serious break in his career. He talked about it, because tomorrow he too will be able to move to Spain with his family and enjoy life. Karpin is a lively candidate for the Spartak job, but not the only available manager on the horizon.

Cherchesov and Carrera are looking for a new job

Carrera’s return will be a step towards rapprochement between Spartak and the fans. The club’s marketing department works with nostalgia. Recently there was a funny case where an actor who had previously played a fan was called upon to play a loyal red and white fan CSKA. And Spartak have dedicated a video to a new kit with a reference to Spartak’s shirts from 25 years ago, when they defeated Ajax in European competition.

Then Filimonov was at the gate, but in front of him they saw Cherchesov’s bat with gloves. Stanislav Salamović has more time to explore clubs after Faroe Islands club knocked out of Champions League with Ferencváros RPL. Cherchesov is not keen on Rubin and Akhmat, although he has let go of Romashchenko’s assistant at the second club, with whom he has worked in various clubs and the Russian national team.

Cherchesov will knock on the doors of the new masters of Spartak. Fans are unlikely to be happy with the candidacy, but the coach dreams of blocking the bitterness of scandals when he last mentored Muscovites and lost to Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League. However, Cherchesov, although he has learned to communicate with people, remains a prickly and wayward mentor. A coach like this needs counterweights in the club.

Spartak don’t have a solid sporting director to put Stanislav Salamovich in his place. I don’t like the idea of appointing a tough specialist who loves to argue with players. But Abaskal will be fired if he walks on a rake. Until then, please be patient. It’s a shame for Spartak that Carrera turned out to be an average specialist, he didn’t even stay at Bari.

Serie A clubs are not naming the former Juventus player. To get to the level of a stable trainer Carrera failed. What if he was created to win against Spartak: there are cases of full compatibility between the club and the mentor, regardless of the level of the specialist, so this is also an option. Muscovites are a good team, they approached Kerzhakov’s goal and had the ball against Zenit.

But Abascal is too arrogant a coach. The Spaniard always plays alone, but he hasn’t put his game in defense and in the support zone. Spartak is always on the attack and constantly loses points. The best result of Abascal in RPL – four consecutive victories a year ago. But the overall statistics are so-so, 23 bankruptcies (losses plus draws) against Spartak’s 26 wins. The coach has faith in the young players and sometimes makes successful substitutions.

But if Spartak plays poorly with their closest rivals, then after the derby with Dynamo they can change their coach. Don’t forget that Spartak spent 77 million euros in three and a half transfer seasons. Huge money for RPL, which Vanoli’s victory in the Cup did not win back. With new ownership but old sponsor, the red and white are spending a lot, so the pressure on Abascal grows.

The Spaniard received newcomers, including a central defender. Spartak did not lose Promes, like Malcolm’s Zenit. But where is the stability and the long winning streak? Spartak can attack without looking back and with bad results in defense even without Abaskal.

INFANTINO: “If there was no FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino He commented on World Cup ticket prices, saying they reflected “absolutely insane” demand for next summer’s tournament:

“We have six to seven million tickets and in 15 days we received 150 million ticket requests. So every day we have 10 million requests. This shows how strong the World Cup is.”

FIFA has sold just 44 million tickets in almost 100 years of the World Cup. So we were able to sell tickets for the 300th anniversary of the World Cup in two weeks. Just imagine. “This is absolutely crazy.”

Infantino also noted that funds from ticket sales would be reinvested into world football, but did not specify a specific amount:

“The important thing is that the revenue from this goes back into football around the world. If it weren’t for FIFA, there would be no football in 150 countries of the world. Football exists thanks to the revenues we get from the World Cup, and we reinvest that into football around the world.”

Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called on FIFA to further reduce 2026 World Cup ticket prices.
