Messi helped Inter Miami win MLS for the first time in 11 games
Argentine forward “Inter Miami” Lionel Messi scored a goal in his first match in the MLS league, held on the night of August 26-27 in New York.
The 36-year-old striker played eight games before meeting the New York Red Bulls, but not in the North American Football League – in the MLS Cup and the US Open Cup.
Messi spent most of the game on the bench and entered the field in the 60th minute. On the 89th, he scored his 11th goal with Inter Miami and the first in the league.
The match ended 2-0 in favor of the guests. The first goal, in the 32nd minute, was scored by Inter Miami midfielder Diego Gomez.
Inter Miami won for the first time in 11 matches. The last time David Beckham’s club won on May 13 in the game with the New England Revolution, which will meet in the next round on August 31.
