Akhmat striker Konate, who plays for the national team of Burkina Faso, became a citizen of Russia
Burkina forward of Akhmat Mohamed Konate received a Russian passport, the press service of the Grozny club reports.
– Mohamed Konate received a passport of the Russian Federation. We congratulate Konate on the citizenship of Russia,” Akhmat said in a statement.
Konate’s wife is a native of Siberia, the couple has a daughter, Yasmina.
Born in Ivory Coast, Konate plays for the Burkina Faso national team. The footballer replenished the Akhmat squad in 2021, moving from Khimki near Moscow. Earlier in the RPL, he also played for Tambov and the Yekaterinburg Ural.
This season, the 25-year-old striker has played eight matches for the Grozny club in all competitions and scored two goals.
