Mostovoy reacted sharply to Karpin’s decision to call up 49 players to the national team
Former midfielder of the Russian national team Alexander Mostovoy called “stupidity” and “nightmare” the decision of the head coach of the national team Valery Karpin to call 49 players to the September training camp.
On Wednesday, the coaching staff of the Russian national team published a list of 49 players called to the training camp. In the original version of the composition, announced on August 24, there were 36 players.
— It’s very strange, stupidity, to be honest. Why call so many players to games when there is nothing ahead. Nightmare, – quotes the Mostovoy site “Match TV”.
The training camp of the Russian national team will begin in Novogorsk on September 4 and will last until September 12. On July 7, RFU Secretary General Maxim Mitrofanov announced that the Russian team would play a friendly match against Qatar on September 12 in Doha.
