Ex-football player of the Spanish national team Albert Riera noted that the head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin has a strong character.
Since 2021, Karpin has been the head coach of the Russian national team, and also heads Rostov in parallel.
– You seem to have crossed paths with Karpin when he worked at Mallorca.
– Literally for three days. I came to the team from Italy (before that, Riera played in Udinese – approx. “Match TV”) and trained individually, because I was not in the best shape. And around this time, the management of Mallorca decided to part with Karpin.
Despite the fact that I hardly worked with him, I respect Valery as a coach. He has a strong character and charisma, and this is the most important thing for a coach. This cannot be taught.
