Former Spain footballer Albert Riera said he had received coaching offers from Russia.
– I wanted to work as a chief in other countries – in Russia or Turkey, where they know me. But it didn’t work out. Although there was interest in me from both countries.
– From Russia – from whom?
– From two teams. Middle of the table and one of the top five clubs in the history of Russia. I will not tell you other details – do not torture.
Now it did not work out, but I will always consider suggestions from here. Everyone knows what I think about Russia. I lived here for a long time, I have a Russian wife, a Russian passport. I respect this country. And I speak Russian quite well,” Riera told Sport24.
After completing his playing career, the Spaniard switched to coaching. Last season, he headed Olimpia Ljubljana, and since July of this year he has been working in another Slovenian club, Celje. The 41-year-old specialist is married to a Russian woman, Yulia Koroleva.
