Kerzhakov, Kovalenko and Prokhin called up to the Russian national team for the September training camp
Six new players have been called up to the Russian national team for the September training camp, according to the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
Invitations to the national team were received by goalkeeper Mikhail Kerzhakov and midfielder Alexander Kovalenko from Zenit, Krylia Sovetov forwards Nikita Saltykov and Vladislav Shitov, Rostov defender Danila Prokhin and Rubin midfielder Daniil Kuznetsov.
The training camp will be missed by PARI NN midfielder Edgar Sevikyan, who decided to play for the Armenian national team. Also, for medical reasons, Evgeny Morozov (Lokomotiv), Vladimir Khubulov, Sergey Babkin (both Wings of the Soviets), Nikita Krivtsov, Alexander Chernikov (both Krasnodar) will not come to the national team for medical reasons.
A total of 49 people remained in the team.
The training camp began in Novogorsk on 4 September. As part of the training camp, the Russian national team with different compositions will play three friendly matches. Footballers born in 2001 and younger will play against the Egyptian Olympic team (September 7 and 11) on the field of the stadium in Suez, and the main Russian team will play against the Qatar team (September 12) in El Wakra.
