Athletic have always considered signing him if possible and have always let us know that he would love to return one day. In the summer we worked on this transition.

We almost succeeded, but we were unlucky as Al-Nasr appeared. We couldn’t compete against the Saudi Arabian team because we knew we weren’t going to win. If Al-Nasr hadn’t come, he would have been with us.
