Former Zenit midfielder Alexei Igonin said that CSKA could remove all images of Mario Fernandez from the club’s stadium.

On Sunday, the Moscow team played a draw at home with Zenit (1:1) in the 7th round of the WORLD RPL. Fernandez spent 82 minutes on the field as part of the Petersburgers. On the eve of the meeting, the image of the Brazilian disappeared from the wall of the arena under the stands, and some fans of the army signed a petition demanding that graffiti with Mario Fernandez be removed from the stadium.

We know Fernandez well. According to his moral and ethical qualities, no one, I think, has any questions. I don’t know if CSKA fans are ready to rewrite history… To remove his image from the stadium means to cross out all the merits of the football player that were previously. Want to delete? So, they will erase it, – quotes the words of Igonin RT.

On July 17, Zenit signed a contract with Fernandez under the 1 + 1 scheme. The football player played for CSKA from 2012 to 2022. Together with the Red-Blues, he became the champion of Russia three times, won the Russian Cup and the Super Cup twice.

Live broadcasts of MIR RPL matches can be watched on the Match TV and MATCH PREMIER TV channels, as well as on matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru websites.
