Brazil and Manchester United footballer Anthony has responded to allegations of domestic violence.

Previously, Gabriela Cavallin, ex-girlfriend of Manchester United striker Anthony, spoke about the violence from the footballer, which she had to endure for almost a year. The Sao Paulo Police have launched an investigation.

“Out of respect for my fans, friends and family, I feel obligated to speak publicly about the false accusations I have been the victim of. From the very beginning, I took this matter seriously and respectfully, providing the necessary clarifications to the police.

The police investigation is a secret, and therefore I cannot make public its contents. However, I can confidently say that the evidence already presented, as well as others that will be presented later, demonstrate my innocence.

My relationship with Gabriela was difficult, with verbal abuse on both sides, but I never practiced any physical aggression.

Each time she presents a different version of the accusations. Therefore, I categorically deny the allegations made and inform that I remain at the disposal of the Brazilian authorities to clarify everything necessary.

I believe that the ongoing police investigation will prove my innocence,” Anthony wrote on the social network.

The 23-year-old player is a graduate of the Brazilian São Paulo. The striker moved to Manchester United from Ajax in 2022.
