Former Akhmat coach Sergey Tashuev believes that Valery Karpin (Rostov) can replace Spartak head coach Guillermo Abascal in the Moscow team, as he is more suitable for the Red-Whites.
On Saturday, Spartak Moscow lost to Krasnodar (0:2), now the team is ninth in the table, seven points behind the leader Krasnodar.
Abascal headed Spartak in the summer of 2022. The contract with the Spanish specialist is valid until the summer of 2025.
– The future of the coach is decided by the club’s management, they know better inside. But the last few matches have been a shambles. Spartak should be trained by an experienced coach who is expensive, but explains intelligibly. They have a good line-up – you need to arrange the players, establish interaction, and not in such a way that today some play, tomorrow others.
– Can you give an example of an experienced coach that Spartak needs?
– It is necessary to take specialists from Russia, who are far from worse than foreign coaches. This is not just my opinion, but an understanding of the subject. I am a very experienced person, I played against Villas-Boas, Unai Emery, Juande Ramos. And those specialists were at least stronger than those foreigners who are now working in Russia. As for the example, the same Valera Karpin. Not only is he a Spartakist, but he also worked there, he knows everything from the inside. The only negative is that he is also the coach of the national team, they may not agree to the combination. But Karpin with young guys practically wins medals. This is a more suitable candidate than Abascal.
– If you received an offer from Spartak, would it interest you?
– The question is not entirely correct, because the club has a coach. But name a Russian coach who does not want to work at Spartak, ”RB Sport” quotes Tashuev.
