Former coach of Spartak Moscow Roman Pilipchuk expressed the opinion that the “red-whites” in 2017 were better equipped than the current team.

— It’s hard to judge without seeing the training process of the current Spartak and without knowing the individual qualities of the players. I saw those football players every day and understood that they could do it. The whole country saw it. It seems to me that the champion Spartak still had better players. There were many footballers with good qualities: Fernando, Luiz Adriano, Taschi, Bocchetti. You can add Russians: Glushakov, Samedov. I have very good memories of two Spartak seasons. I still follow the team,” Pilipchuk was quoted as saying by “Championship.”

Spartak is in ninth place in the MIR RPL standings, gaining 10 points in seven matches. In the eighth round, the “red-whites” will host Sochi on September 16.
