The Italians, in Spalletti’s debut match, failed to beat North Macedonia in the qualification for Euro 2024

The Italian national football team drew with North Macedonia in a qualifying match for the 2024 European Championship.
The meeting of Group C took place in Skopje and ended with a score of 1:1. The hosts responded to Ciro Immobile’s goal (47th minute) with a precise strike from Enis Bardi (81). This match was the debut for Luciano Spalletti as head coach of the Italian national team. The 64-year-old specialist, who headed Zenit St. Petersburg from 2009 to 2014, previously replaced Roberto Mancini, who resigned, in the national team.
Italy, with four points from three matches, is in third place in the Group C standings, ahead of North Macedonia (4) in additional indicators.
In the parallel matches of Group I, the visiting Swiss team failed to beat Kosovo – 2:2. Remo Freuler scored for the Swiss (14), and Vedat Muriqi scored a double for the hosts (65, 90+4). Amir Rrahmani (79) sent another goal into his own goal. Romania tied at home with Israel (1:1). Denis Alibek (27) scored the goal for the hosts, and Oscar Gloch (53) scored for the Israelis. Therefore, the first task is to participate in the World Championship. I think this is a goal and a dream not only for the players, but also for all the fans and all Ukrainians. “When the national team plays, everyone watches football, even those who don’t follow it much.”
