“Our story is over.” The wife of Vyacheslav Malafeev announced a divorce from the ex-player of the Russian national team after 11 years of marriage
Ekaterina Malafeeva spoke about her divorce from former Russian national team and Zenit football player Vyacheslav Malafeev.
– It’s time to be honest with you. Now only the truth and nothing but the truth. Our story is over. Yesterday was an unusual day for our family. We divorced Slava. Our love transformed into friendship. We were able to be honest with each other. I would like this to become a new stage for friendly relations.
Our task now is to preserve all the values that we put into our feelings and relationships. We are opening a new era. We spent ourselves as a couple, but saved ourselves as parents,” Ekaterina Malafeeva wrote on a social network.
Vyacheslav Malafeev was married twice. In 2001, he married Marina Bezborodova, who died in a car accident in 2011. Malafeev later married Ekaterina Komyakova, who took her husband’s surname during marriage. In 2013, Ekaterina gave birth to the football player’s son, Alex.
