Russian coach Andrei Chernyshov said that he could lead a club from Saudi Arabia in the summer.

In 2003, Chernyshov headed Spartak.

– We parted ways with this club in April last year – I had personal circumstances that forced me to do this. Then we separated normally – I went to work in Serbia. We talked with the owner of Mohammedan when I worked there, but not on the topic of returning to India. There was no question of invitation to this club. This summer I discussed some options for continuing my career, but these were offers from Arab and Asian countries.

One option from Saudi Arabia was very attractive – the team had only recently entered the Premier League, and their coach was invited to one of the leading teams in this championship and they were looking for a replacement. I was one of the candidates for this position along with another foreign specialist; we communicated with the club management via video link. I was immediately told that there was another candidate and the choice was between him and me. Unfortunately for me, at the last meeting of the board of directors they gave preference to another specialist.

There were no offers from Russia, but I didn’t really count on it. I thought about those Arabic and Asian options, but nothing interested me. I decided to relax and spend time with my family, when unexpectedly I received an offer to return to Mohammedan. They were unhappy with the pre-season training, and they decided to contact me. We quickly agreed on the financial issue, as well as on the work of the coaching staff. I received a visa and was already in India on September 1,” RB Sport quotes Chernyshov as saying.
