Four players of the Greek national team mistakenly did not take part in the Euro 2024 qualifying match with Gibraltar.

Konstantinos Tsimikas, Dimitris Kourbelis, Petro Mantalos AND Manolis Siopis received yellow cards in the 5th round match with the Netherlands.

The country’s football federation, as well as the national team, considered that the players did not have the right to play in the 6th round due to too many yellow cards. The players received two warnings in a row, as required by the rules of UEFA the disqualification occurs after three yellow cards. For 2 warnings you are disqualified only in the final phase of the European tournament.

However, this did not prevent Greece from beating their opponents with a score of 5:0.
