Lokomotiv midfielder Dmitry Barinov said that he would give his son freedom in choosing a profession and life path.

In August 2023, a son, Ivan, was born into the family of a railway captain and his wife Christina.

— After becoming a father, I began to notice that I had become more responsible. I constantly take care of my son. When I leave for a match, I always ask my wife to send me a video. Attachment has already appeared, the best event in life. But, of course, there was less sleep.

My parenting principles? Depends on which path the son chooses. I definitely won’t put pressure on you. I will help him with everything. For example, I won’t insist that he become a football player. Of course, when he starts walking, I will always throw him a ball. If he loves it and decides that he wants to be better than his father, then I will help him in every possible way with this.

As for principles, I will tell him to be honest, decent and kind. But you don’t have to be kind to everyone, but only to those who treat you kindly. I want good things to be said about him. Although in our country they may not say good things at all, ha-ha,” Barinov told the Championship.

This season, 27-year-old Barinov played nine matches in all tournaments and scored one goal.
