The episode in question occurred in the 50th minute of the match. After Akhmat’s combination on the left flank, Vladimir Ilyin passed into the penalty area to Ivan Oleynikov and immediately opened up for a return pass. Then he took out defender Sergei Petrov and goalkeeper Matvey Safonov. It seemed that a goal was inevitable.

But Ilyin rejoiced early. Finding himself two meters from the goal, he fired with his strength… into the post. The ball flew away from her into the field. Match commentator Roman Naguchev was shocked by this outcome of the episode.

By that time, the teams had already exchanged goals. The hosts opened the scoring – in the third minute Oleynikov ran away from the central defenders and rolled the ball past Safonov. Krasnodar managed to get even before the break – in the 38th minute, Kadi took a pass in the penalty area and calmly fired under the left post. True, the legitimacy of his goal raised doubts among referee Vladimir Moskalev, but after consulting with VAR, he still counted the goal. But the referee canceled John Cordoba’s goal in the 20th minute because the Colombian was offside.

The score did not change until the end of the match – 1:1. Ivan Oleynikov was recognized as the best player of the meeting, scoring at the very beginning and making a cool pass to Vladimir Ilyin. But if Ilyin had been in that episode, the game would have gone according to a completely different scenario…
