Director of the Krasnodar Academy Aram Fundukyan spoke about the problem faced by the team’s midfielder Eduard Spertsyan at an early stage in your career.
Did Galitsky insist that Spertsyan remain in the youth first team, despite his growth? Yes, it was like that. Edik has been very talented since childhood. He played very well for his age, even with the older kids. But growth – yes. I remember the meetings with Edik and his father. We were worried that he was short. And Edik said: “I will grow, I will definitely grow.” And dad told us to be patient, that they had no little ones in the family. Galitsky played an important role in the fate of Spertsyan. When we transferred Edik to another team, it was physically difficult for him. This is Galitsky’s decision: to wait as long as necessary. I remember the moment when Edik arrived tall after the summer holidays.
