Russian coach Igor Shalimov spoke about the miss of Akhmat striker Vladimir Ilyin in the match of the 8th round of the WORLD RPL with Krasnodar.
The meeting took place in Grozny and ended with the score 1:1; at the beginning of the second half, Ilyin was unable to score into an empty net, hitting the post.
– The moment when Ilyin had already done everything – an awesome pause, when he simply stopped everyone in the penalty area, including goalkeeper Safonov – the forward simply enjoyed what he had done. Everyone hit it – Ilyin simply played superbly until the moment of the shot, he could have scored a miracle goal and, apparently, was already thinking about how he would celebrate. I thought it was Messi – I simply can’t explain it any other way. Volodya played competently, did everything during the pause… But I think he himself doesn’t understand what he did now,” Shalimov told RB Sport.
