Samara “Wings of the Soviets” won an away victory over Kaliningrad “Baltika” in the fourth round match of the group stage of the RPL FONBET Russian Cup.
The Group C meeting in Kaliningrad ended with a score of 2:1. Vladimir Pisarsky (38th minute), who scored the first goal of the season, and Amar Rakhmanovich (55) scored for Samara. For the hosts, in added time to the second half, midfielder Artur Galoyan scored an 11-meter kick, which was awarded by referee Vera Opeikina after reviewing VAR.
Igor Osinkin’s team scored points for the first time in the current Russian Cup and is in last place in the Group C table with 3 points. Sergei Ignashevich’s team suffered its first defeat in the Cup and is leading the group with 9 points.
In the fifth round of the group stage of the RPL Path of the Russian Cup, “Wings” will host “Akhmat”, the match will take place on October 4. Baltika will play with Zenit in St. Petersburg the day before.
