Spanish Sevilla played a draw with French Lens in the match of the 1st round of the group stage of the Champions League.

The Group B meeting, which took place on Wednesday in Spain, ended with a score of 1:1. The hosts scored a goal from Luis Ocampos (9th minute), and Angelo Fulgini scored for Lens (24th minute).

Defender Sergio Ramos entered Sevilla’s starting line-up. He became the record holder among Spanish footballers for the most appearances (138 games) in the starting lineup in the Champions League, surpassing the result of ex-Real Madrid player Raul Gonzalez Blanco (137) in the entire history of the tournament. He is also just one game away from becoming the defender with the most Champions League appearances. At the moment, this record belongs to ex-Milan captain Paolo Maldini (139).
