Silkin: “Lichka hardly realizes the importance of the Spartak-Dynamo derby”
Former head coach of Dynamo Moscow Sergei Silkin believes that the current head of the Blue and White coaching staff, Marcel Licka, is unlikely to realize the importance of the match with Spartak.
The meeting of the teams as part of the 9th round of the MIR RPL will take place on Saturday, September 23, at Otkritie Bank Arena and will begin at 19:00 (Moscow time).
— When I was at Dynamo school, Spartak was not a rival for us, so we didn’t have to prepare ourselves in any special way for a match with them. The composition was named – and that’s enough. As a coach, I continued this tradition. There’s no point in trying to get guys hyped up before the game; they can screw themselves up.
And for every coach, any match is a kind of test to establish himself in his position. Whether Lichka feels special tension specifically before the game with Spartak, only he can answer. I think that Marcel is unlikely to realize the significance of this meeting. He will probably feel its importance when the team enters the field and the stands make noise,” RT quotes Silkin as saying.
