The Icelandic signed a one-year contract with the club on 31 August.
The footballer appeared on the pitch for the first time since May 2021, when he played for Everton in the match against Manchester City in the last round nuclear submarine. In July of the same year, the midfielder was arrested on charges of sexual crimes against minors. Two years later, all charges against Sigurdsson were dropped due to insufficient evidence.
