“Rostov” disgraced itself even before the match with CSKA. And then he blew a two-goal lead.
“Rostov” finds itself in a difficult situation in the Russian Championship – Valery Karpin’s team cannot get a decent distance away from the play-off zone. The club’s press service tried to maintain a positive mood for the fans by announcing the match with CSKA with a scandalous video in which Rostovites beat a man in a horse mask. Even many fans of the “yellow-blues” did not really like the creativity, and after such a daring application on the field, one should have expected something grandiose.
But Rostov, while leading, was unable to maintain victory over its opponent and, to use the language of the characters in the pre-match video, the team’s justification was not very good.
“Why are you mooing, horse meat?”
The match between Rostov and CSKA in Rostov-on-Don closed the Sunday program of the ninth round of the WORLD RPL. The meeting turned out to be productive and gave fans of both teams a lot of different emotions. Already at the very beginning of the game, Valery Karpin’s team managed to open the scoring – in the seventh minute, Alexei Mironov accurately struck from range. And just five minutes later, the hosts strengthened their advantage – after a mistake by the army team in defense, Danil Glebov rolled the ball into the path of Yegor Golenkov, who made the score 2:0.

After two quick goals, Rostov fans probably remembered the pre-match video published by the team’s press service. It just starred two direct participants in the effective attacks – Mironov and Glebov. The footballers tried on the role of criminal heroes, playing in a scene that brought back memories of the popular film of the early 2000s – “Boomer”.
According to the scenario, Alexey and Danil, who were driving a Lexus, decided to teach a lesson to a man in a horse mask who was creating obstacles for them on the road in his Mercedes. As a result of short negotiations, the daring horse was hit on the head by Mironov, and then several finishing blows.
– Why are you mooing, horse meat? – the Rostov player added to create an atmosphere, slightly altering the original phrase.
Then the Rostovites invited the horse to the Rostov Arena, saying that he could bring whoever he wanted, they would explain to anyone who he was. And then, probably, “Rostov” should have declassed CSKA on the field. The beginning turned out bright, but then the plan began to fail…
“What a shame”
Already in the middle of the half, CSKA, through the efforts of the Brazilian Douglas Kelven, won back one goal. True, after that there was another accurate shot by Golenkov, but the fans of the “yellow-blues” did not see a confident victory. Fedor Chalov in the 65th minute and Abbosbek Faizullaev in the 70th minute upset the Rostov team, making the score on the scoreboard equal. Until the final whistle, nothing fundamentally changed – a productive 3:3 draw was the result of this dramatic confrontation.

There would probably be no reason to reproach the hosts for another loss of points, but after a loud bid with a “beaten” horse, perhaps we should have expected something else. However, even if the “red-blues” had been defeated with some crushing score, would it have been worth making such an offensive announcement for CSKA fans? Of course, people have different senses of humor; some may have found the video funny. But, judging by the reaction, even many Rostov fans considered the work of their own team’s press service to be very shameful.
– This is a failure, this is a failure, this is a disaster, what kind of nonsense?
— Even for me, a fan of Rostov, this is somehow creepy compared to previous videos.
— I love Rostov, but it was unnecessary, I hope at least the game will please you.
“It would be better if they were so creative on the field!” It’s painful to watch the game.
