Sports director of Orenburg: “So far, not a single foreigner has a Russian passport”
Orenburg sports director Dmitry Andreev said that the club has not yet launched the procedure for foreign players to obtain Russian citizenship.
Earlier it was reported that Argentine players of the Orenburg team Lucas Vera, Matias Perez and Brian Mansilla were showing interest in obtaining a Russian passport.
— We have to wait until winter, because there is a possibility that some Orenburg foreign players may leave the team. And only then, if they remain, should we deal with the issue of obtaining Russian citizenship. So far, not one of our foreigners has a Russian passport and the process of launching this issue has not been started,” Andreev told Sport24.
Orenburg is in 12th place in the RPL table, gaining 8 points in nine matches.
