“CSKA’s midfielders play defense not because they have a good life. Forced rotation” – Aldonin
Former CSKA football player Evgeny Aldonin believes that the reason for the large number of goals conceded by the Moscow club this season is the forced rotation of the squad.
On Sunday, CSKA tied with Rostov in the away match of the ninth round of the Russian Championship – 3:3. Vladimir Fedotov’s team ranks ninth in the standings with 13 points. The goal difference for the army team is 19:15.
– It seems to me that the reasons here are absolutely clear. The composition is constantly changing, it has to be rotated, either due to injury or due to disqualification. Plus, I think, the overall level of the championship has increased. This is good, so all wrestling matches take place. We see how Zenit began to lose. In almost every game there is a fight for points and, it is clear that the away match in Rostov was not an easy walk for CSKA.
Defense is the line on the football field that you least want to touch. And here CSKA has to rotate it in every match. Plus, the midfielders are already playing in defense – Mukhin, Zdelar. Of course, this is not from a good life. Rocha missed the match, Diveev was injured, and the other players were very young and without experience.
The more stable the team composition, the fewer injured players, the fewer goals will be conceded if the game is good. Can we say that now there are echoes of CSKA’s bad transfer company? It is impossible to assume that someone will get injured or receive a red card. In principle, CSKA’s roster is staffed with good, quality players,” Aldonin told Metaratings.ru.
