Ural president: “Today VAR is bad for our football!”

President of the Urals Grigory Ivanov commented on the work of the referees in the match RPL against Krasnodar (0:2).

I wish episodes like this would get their due. The main thing we would like to achieve is that judges interpret similar points in the same way. And if the judge made a mistake, he must be punished. After all, as they usually say: if the offside is not obvious, you have to trust the linesman. Moreover, now there are no offside lines that give one hundred percent confidence.

Yes, the episode with the hit hand in the Krasnodar penalty area at the end of the match is ambiguous. But there was a blow in the hand! I don’t understand why there was no video projection.

Remember the Cup match in Kazan in August. There was a clear episode when referee Bobrovsky did not award a clear penalty to Andrei Egorychev and VAR remained silent. The sentence in that case was issued more than a month later: they say, yes, the judge was wrong. But why did you have to wait so long and what will the punishment be? In the next round the same referee acts as a reserve and in the next round of the Cup he will judge again. How’s that?

Or let’s take our home match against Fakel. Two identical episodes involving the same player (Silvie Begic). But in one case it is a foul and Fakel’s goal is disallowed, in the other it is not a foul and it is not a penalty in favor of Ural! Same episodes, but in one case VAR intervenes, in the other it doesn’t.

In general, VAR should not have interfered in this episode! A boy sits somewhere, which no one knows or sees, and interferes! For what?

There was a clear offside. Although some experts talk about Emerson’s heel: they say that he gave him an advantage over Cadi. Aren’t you funny? The referee disallows the goal, but there is an incomprehensible intervention from the assistant and the decision is changed.

It turns out that VAR is bad for our football today!
