England teams will not play matches with youth teams from Russia, which the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) may admit to international tournaments. This was reported by The Times with reference to a statement from the Football Association of England (FA).
On Tuesday, UEFA reported that the organization’s executive committee proposed to the union’s leadership to allow the Russian men’s and under-17 national teams to participate in international tournaments without a flag and anthem. The suspension of national teams and teams from Russia, with the exception of U‑17, will remain in force.
— We do not support the position on Russia’s admission to UEFA competitions. Our position remains unchanged: England teams will not play against Russian teams,” the FA statement said.
Russian clubs and national teams are not allowed to participate in tournaments under the auspices of UEFA and the International Football Federation (FIFA) from February 2022.
