Searches are underway on the territory of the RFEF at the headquarters of the Spanish referees in connection with the investigation into the “Negreira case”. The main aim is to search for the minutes of the meetings in which the former vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees of the Royal Spanish Football Federation participated José María Enriquez Negreira.
It is reported that the court finds Barcelona guilty in the Negreira case. The head of the investigative commission considered the payment of 7.5 million euros a crime. The Court’s position is that no official can receive additional remuneration for the performance of his duties. Also accused of corruption are Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira himself, his son, and the former presidents of the Catalan club Josep Bartomeu AND Sandro Rosell.
The Referees Technical Committee insists that Negreira had no influence on the weekly referee appointments determined by the Appointments Committee, which he chaired at the time Sanchez Arminio.
