“There are no improvements yet. 9 rounds have passed, but there is no clarity with the game in defense” – Masalitin on CSKA’s results

Former CSKA football player Valery Masalitin said that the main problem of the Moscow club is injuries to defenders.

After nine rounds in the Russian Championship, CSKA is in ninth place in the standings with 13 points. The last time the “red-blues” won the MIR RPL was on August 13, when they beat Sochi – 3:1.

— Before the start of the season, did you think that the team would show the best result?

– Of course, I expected better. The end of the previous season was encouraging. Then the team found its game, and the result appeared.

— Do you have hope that everything will improve?

— To be honest, there are no improvements yet. Nine rounds have passed, and the game in the same defense has not become clearer. Before the season, the main three defenders were Diveev, Moises and Rocha, but disaster struck and the leading defensive players disappeared. It is clear that the defense, unfortunately, has undergone changes that have not benefited the club.

— So the main scourge of CSKA now is injuries to defensive players?

– Naturally. Only Medina, who was not the main one, left the team. Who did CSKA play with in the Russian Cup final? With Krasnodar. Where are the bulls now? At the first place. Why is CSKA in ninth place? There was little time to prepare, but Krasnodar was able to prepare, but CSKA was not,” Euro-Futbol.Ru quotes Masalitin as saying.
