Aston Villa demand new kit after players complained their shirts were becoming too heavy with sweat – media

Aston Villa Football Club has called on the technical sponsor who produces the team’s kit to supply new shirts after both the men’s and women’s teams complained about the current kit, the Daily Mail reports.

Players told club officials that the shirts became heavy with sweat too quickly, which they believed could affect performance on the field.

The idea of using last season’s kit was also scrapped as Villa’s main sponsor changed.

Wolverhampton Wolverhampton men’s and women’s teams are believed to have faced the same problem last season, although this has not been made public. After discussions with the technical sponsor in the off-season, the fabric was changed and players reported an improvement this season.
