“The lack of European Cups is not demotivating” – Dynamo football player Skopintsev

Dynamo defender Dmitry Skopintsev noted that he is not demotivated by the fact that Russian clubs are excluded from European competition.

Russian clubs and national teams are not allowed to participate in tournaments under the auspices of UEFA and the International Football Federation (FIFA) due to the situation in Ukraine.

— Does it really demotivate you that there are no European Cups?

– No, it’s fine, I play Football Manager (laughs). Speaking seriously, Russian clubs were removed from there too. My motivation is to try to be the best team and the best player within my country.

— You’ve been playing in the RPL for six years now. Has the championship become weaker since then?

— The level of resistance and performance skill was a little higher. Remember those lineups. That Rostov would now be contending for the championship. I tell our youth: “At that time they would have given you one match to play and they would have seen whether you showed yourself or not. It depended on whether you would continue playing or not.” Now they are put on and on until they prove themselves,” RB Sport quotes Skopintsev as saying.

In the 10th round of the WORLD RPL, Dynamo will play against Akhmat on Sunday in Grozny. The game will start at 19:00 (Moscow time) and will be shown live on the Match TV and MATCH PREMIER TV channels. The broadcast will also be available on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.

VIDEO. The best scorer of the year in the Ukrainian national team has been announced. All targets

The Ukrainian Football Federation has determined the top scorer of the national team in 2025.

This status was given to Polesie’s winger Alexey Gutsulyak, who scored 5 goals and made 3 assists.

Gutsulyak’s assistance became important in the decisive matches of the autumn, when the player scored a goal and made an assist in the match against Azerbaijan, and also scored and assisted in the match against Iceland.

This helped the Ukraine national team reach the 2026 World Cup qualifying play-offs against Sweden in March.

Unfortunately we did not have the chance to participate in the World Cup and we did not reach the final of the African Championship. Therefore we are open to this idea and would be happy about it.” <…>. I would be very happy to come to Russia and support our team,” Doneng said.
