The Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) Association, responsible for the work of referees in English Premier League matches, has admitted an error in the work of the referees of the Tottenham and Liverpool match (2:1).
Referee Simon Hooper in this match he sent the “red” players off the field. Curtis Jones AND Diogo Joto. Furthermore, the goal was not counted Luis Diaz for offside. The organization said in a statement:
PGMOL admits there was a serious mistake in the first half of the Tottenham-Liverpool match. Luis Diaz’s goal was disallowed for offside by the referees on the pitch. This is a clear and obvious error of fact which should have resulted in the goal being disallowed after the use of VAR. However, VAR was not used. PGMOL will conduct a full review of the circumstances that caused the error.
