“We don’t look at numbers or records” – Osinkin after the victory over Spartak

Krylia Sovetov head coach Igor Osinkin, after the victory over Spartak in the 10th round match of the Russian Championship, noted that players should not look at the standings in order to maintain their spirit in the coming games.
The Samara club defeated the “red-whites” at home on Sunday with a score of 4:0. “Wings” scored 21 points in 10 rounds and are in second place, behind only “Krasnodar” (24).

— It turns out that Spartak was surprised?
— It turns out that we were surprised, but the game turned out to be difficult anyway. We made the most of our capabilities. I had to not only play for a long time, but also endure. We made a real gift for the fans and we hope that there will be a little more fans at each game than at the previous ones.
— We updated the club record based on the results of 10 rounds. How does this feel within the team?
– No way. We don’t look at numbers or records. We learn about them in the press. Now we need to prepare for the next games and move on. Difficult moment. Big score, a lot went wrong. It is important for the coaching staff and I to find words to keep the players on the ground. Everything is ahead. We have a lot to add. Even on such a joyful day, one must look forward correctly.
— “Spartak” had the initiative and the ball almost the entire match, “Wings” acted more on counterattacks. Is this how you originally planned to play?
– We planned it, and according to the account. It so happened that we took the lead early. Due to these factors, we played the kind of football that you saw. “Spartak” knows how to take these balls. When we were satisfied with the score, it was important to create a density in which Spartak and its leaders would not feel confident,” Osinkin said on Match TV.
In the next round, Krylya Sovetov will play away against PARI NN Nizhny Novgorod on October 8.
