Lokomotiv reached the quarterfinals of the RPL Path of the Russian Cup ahead of schedule, beating Rostov at home.

Lokomotiv beat Rostov at home in the match of the 5th round of the RPL FONBET Russian Cup.

The meeting took place at the Russian Railways Arena and ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of the railway workers.

The goals were scored by Timur Suleymanov (34), Anton Miranchuk (39) and Maxim Glushenkov (59). Also in the 7th minute, Miranchuk missed a penalty. Maxim Osipenko scored the only goal for Rostov in the 89th minute.

After five rounds, Lokomotiv has 10 points, ahead of Ural and Rostov (8 each) in the Group B table. At the same time, Mikhail Galaktionov’s team secured one of the two first places and a ticket to the quarterfinals of the RPL Path, since the Rostovites and Yekaterinburgers will play each other in the final round, and one of them will lose points.

In the final 6th round, Lokomotiv will host Rubin on November 1, and the Rostovites will play at home with Ural a day later.
