“I’ll keep quiet, like Gancharenko.” Karpin – on the award of a penalty against Rostov in the match between the Kyrgyz Republic and Lokomotiv

Rostov head coach Valery Karpin appreciated the assignment of a penalty against the Rostov team in the Russian Cup match with Lokomotiv.

The meeting of the 5th round of the group stage of the RPL FONBET Russian Cup was held on Tuesday in Moscow and ended with a score of 3:1 in favor of the railway workers. In the 7th minute of the match, the main referee of the game, Artem Lyubimov, awarded a penalty kick in favor of Lokomotiv, which was not converted by Anton Miranchuk. On Friday, Rostov tied with Ural in the match of the 10th round of the RPL (2:2). After the meeting, the head coach of the Yekaterinburg club, Viktor Gancharenko, remained silent in response to questions from journalists during a flash interview, in the mixed zone and at a press conference.

— What did the judges say in the episode with the penalty?

– Nothing. And now I’ll keep silent, like Gancharenko. What is the difference between this penalty and the penalty in the game with Ural? Then the hand was recognized in a natural position, now – in an unnatural one. And “Ural” is still indignant about something,” Match TV reports Karpin’s words.

Lokomotiv head coach Mikhail Galaktionov admitted that there is no euphoria within the team after a series of successful matches.

— You have been playing successfully in the last matches. What is the reason?

— We are in good functional condition, but there is no euphoria. A tough season in which everyone can beat everyone. We continue to work. We will recover and systematically prepare for the Ural.

— How do you prepare your team for the game?

— We give certain tasks, motivate, although the level is already high, and practice the principles of the game. Stability may sag, but there is something to work on. We are obliged to maintain the level that we set with the victory over Zenit.

After this game, Lokomotiv topped the standings of Group B of the RPL FONBET Russian Cup with 10 points. “Ural” and “Rostov”, having 8 points each, take 2nd and 3rd places. Rubin is in last place with 4 points. The Kazan team lost their chances of qualifying from the group; Lokomotiv guaranteed itself participation in the playoffs.
