English Brighton drew with French Marseille in the second round match of the Europa League group stage.
The Group B meeting took place in Marseille and ended with a score of 2:2. The guests responded to the goals of Chancel Mbemba (19th minute) and Jordan Veretout (20) with precise shots from the penalty spot by Pascal Gross (55) and Joao Pedro (88).
Ex-defender of Spartak Moscow Samuel Gigot was not included in Marseille’s application for this meeting.
The leader of the group is the Greek AEK, which scored 4 points in two matches. Second is Marseille (2), which is ahead of the Dutch Ajax (2) in terms of additional indicators. Brighton (1) are in fourth place.
In the next round, Marseille will visit AEK, and Brighton will host Ajax. Both meetings will take place on October 26.
