The players of the Cypriot “Aris” defeated the Scottish “Rangers” on their field in the second round match of the group stage of the Europa League.
The meeting ended with a score of 2:1.
Alex Muketu-Moussunda (9th minute) and Xavi Babika (59th minute) scored for the winners. Abdalla Sima scored for the Rangers.
Russian Aris forward Alexander Kokorin entered the field in the 67th minute, but did not score any effective actions.
The Cypriots scored 3 points and moved up to second place in the Group C standings, Rangers are in fourth place with 3 points.
In the next round, Aris will host Betis on October 26, and the Scots will play away against Sparta Prague on the same day.
