“Spartak must find a way to help Abaskal” – Shalimov
Russian coach Igor Shalimov expressed the opinion that the management of Spartak must find a way to help Guillermo Abascal improve his position in the WORLD RPL standings.
Now the “red-whites” occupy fifth place in the RPL WORLD table, gaining 16 points in 10 rounds. In the last match of the FONBET Russian Cup, Spartak lost to Dynamo with a score of 0:3.
— In my opinion, it’s not worth removing Abaskal from Spartak now. The club must find a way to help him. To do this, you need to understand what is happening within the team. The club must find a link between Abascal and the management. This will help deal with the team’s internal problems. We need to find a football person – Romantsev, for example.
Now Abaskal decides everything internally, but the management does not understand what is happening. The situation cannot be left like this. But there is no point in resigning either. Firstly, the Spaniard will have to pay a large penalty. Then again there will be a new coach with a big long contract. And in the next transfer window he will again need 20 million for purchases. It will be the same again. Therefore, we need to wait a bit with Abascal’s dismissal and try to solve the problems internally. This season you can already forget about the championship. We need to get into the top 3. At the end of this season, it is already possible to make some fundamental decisions,” the Championship quotes Shalimov as saying.
In the next round of the RPL, Spartak will play against CSKA. The meeting of the teams will take place on October 8 at the Red-White stadium and will begin at 19:00 (Moscow time). Watch the live broadcast of the game on the Match TV channel, as well as on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru on Sunday from 18:00 (Moscow time).
