Former Russian national team player Vladimir Bystrov believes that Russian midfielder Alexei Miranchuk should have left Atalanta in the summer to get more playing practice.
On Thursday, Atalanta defeated Portuguese Sporting CP with a score of 2:1 in the second round match of the Europa League group stage. 27-year-old Miranchuk spent the entire match on the bench.
“Lekha was in his place, resting calmly on a bench. It was clear that he [летом] it was necessary to get out of Atalanta as soon as possible. I don’t know what made him stay,” Match TV quotes Bystrov.
This season, Miranchuk played for Atalanta in three matches, spending a total of 56 minutes on the field. Last season, the Russian played for Torino on loan, for which he played 31 matches, scored 4 goals and gave 6 assists.
