“If Spartak wins against CSKA, then everyone will start carrying Abascal in their arms” – Dyakov

Former Rostov footballer Vitaly Dyakov did not rule out that the position of Spartak head coach Guillermo Abascal in the club may directly depend on the result of the upcoming Russian championship match with CSKA.

On Sunday, the “red and whites” will host the army club in the match of the 11th round of the MIR Russian Premier League (RPL). In the last two games, Spartak lost to Dynamo in the Russian Cup (0:3) and to Krylia Sovetov in the RPL (0:4).

— In a team like Spartak, after a series of unsuccessful matches, you should always be afraid that you might be fired. Moreover, Abaskal in Spartak periodically does strange things with the choice of players and the lineup for the match. Spartak has no stability this season.

— If Spartak loses in the derby to CSKA, will Abaskal be fired or given a chance?

– Of course, defeat in the derby always reflects very badly. Because there is immediate pressure from fans, the press, and club veterans. Yes maybe. If Spartak wins against CSKA, then the opposite will happen: everyone will start carrying Abascal in their arms. They will say: “The main thing is that you don’t leave. Abascal is the best coach.” Now it’s like this, but a week later there’s a different reaction and a completely different attitude,” RB Sport quotes Dyakov.

Watch the live broadcast of the meeting between Spartak and CSKA on October 8 from 18:00 (Moscow time) on the Match TV channel, as well as on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.

Bulykin named the position that Spartak needs to strengthen

Former Russian national football player Dmitry Bulykin expressed his opinion on how Spartak could strengthen during the winter window.

What kind of player does Spartak need in the winter transfer window? First of all, another goalscoring striker. They are already in a good position and can fight for the championship, but due to the atmosphere in the team there were disagreements.

Now we need a good coach who unites them with a single goal and task. If I were in Spartak, I would find another goalscoring striker in the winter and fight for the championship.

Amorim explains Casemiro’s surprise substitution against Newcastle

Mentor Manchester United Reuben Amorim he said he replaced the midfielder Casemiro during the 1–0 win over Newcastle United because he felt the Brazilian would “struggle” with the intensity of the second half.

Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte formed United’s midfield duo in the absence of Bruno Fernandes, who missed the match with a hamstring injury, but Amorim replaced the Brazilian with Leni Yoro in the 61st minute.

After seeing his number on the substitution board, Casemiro pointed to himself and was disappointed with Amorim’s decision to replace him so early in the match.

Asked to explain Casemiro’s substitution, Amorim replied: “At that moment I didn’t want to shoot [Матеуса] Cunho because he is the only one who allows us to be creative and I put him in position number 10. Jack [Флетчер] it was fresh and could continue, Manu [Угарте] he was cooler than Casemiro. In the end we decided to replace him because they were making a lot of quick passes and I felt that at that point he would have difficulty.”
