Dyakov believes that Rostov will take 10th place in the table at the end of the RPL season

Former Rostov footballer Vitaly Dyakov believes that the team will take 10th place in the MIR standings of the Russian Premier League (RPL) at the end of the 2023/24 season.

On Saturday, the Rostov team lost to Krasnodar in the match of the 11th round of the Russian Championship – 2:3; after the first half, Rostov led with a score of 2:0.

— This is not the first time that Rostov leads 2:0 and misses not only a victory, but even a draw. Errors must be worked on. It is probably underway, but apparently the players do not understand or cannot implement the coach’s demands. Sooner or later, Rostov will start winning and taking points, and the team will climb out of the playoff zone. I think they will have to take tenth place at the end of the season.

— Did something break down in the psychology of the team or technically?

– Naturally, matches like yesterday, or with Baltika, do not help the team psychologically. Yesterday we essentially lost out of the blue. With the score 2:1, Komlichenko cuts to his own – 2:2. Then a simple pass into the penalty area, where Cordoba received the ball. The defender, having allowed him to do this, fell away from him, allowed him to turn around and shoot. I did everything that should not be done. Cordoba scored a goal on the childish mistakes of the Rostov defender.

— Without adding new players to Rostov, is it really possible to do anything?

– They fought with Krasnodar. This means they can play and defend. What happens there when they lead by two goals is unclear. Maybe they should be told: “We are not winning and losing 0:2. We have to go out and score.” The team misses too much. I think that they will do something with the lineup that they have now. Of course, in winter we need to strengthen our positions, including in defense. You can’t miss so much, it’s too much,” Metaratings.ru quotes Dyakov as saying.

Rostov, led by Valery Karpin, is in 13th place in the table with 10 points. This season, this is the most missing club in the RPL at the moment.
